Since we just celebrated Earth Day on April 22nd, we discussed some topics related to climate change and global warming in class, using the vocabulary that we had already studied.
I assigned this video to the students, and they had to watch it and answer the questions on the day before the lesson, so that they already had some ideas and reviewed the vocabulary before discussing these topics in class. (flipped classroom).
After this, we summarized and discussed the main topics that the video dealt with and the students wrote down what they thought were the main environmental problems nowadays and possible solutions to these.
The students enjoy doing these interactive activities with videos, since they are more focused (they don't answer the questions once they have watched the video, but have to pay attention at all times, since the video suddenly stops and a question comes up), and they also have the visual aid and can watch it and listen to it again if necessary.
I find Edpuzzle a very useful and enjoyable tool that helps us use videos for educative purposes.
